There are no homes for sale in retirement communities in the Syracuse area that compare to the communities one finds in places like the Carolinas or Arizona.

However, what do have are developers who are building communities more suited to seniors. Examples would be Annesgrove in Camillus and Erie Village in Manlius. We can help you research these and other options.

Recently built in Radisson, this family run residence has to be seen to be believed!. The central part of the building is called "Main Street" and features litle shops including a hairdressing salon and soda fountain. The Nottingham
Located in Jamesville, The Nottingham is nestled in a country setting only minutes from downtown Syracuse. A very attractive campus with a series of cottages, apartments and a main building provides seniors with varying levels of care. The main building provides a home for people who need a significant amount of daily assistance, wheras the cottages are for couples or singles who wish to be independent but close to services that senior people may typically need.


Services provided at The Nottingham include housekeeping, linen service, fitness classes, swimming in the indoor pool, fine dining, craft classes and workshops, and much more. The Nottingham is operated by Loretto, a Central New York provider of long-term care services since 1926.

McHarrie Town
Located in Baldwinsville and associated with Syracuse Nursing Home, McHarrie Town is a wonderful new community designed for independent assisted living.

The Oaks
The Oaks is the Jewish home for seniors and was built very recently. It is in Dewitt close to the temples.

Clare Bridge
Clare Bridge is in Manlius and provides housing to people with Alzheimer's Disease. It is a very attractive building with enclosed gardens and foot-paths.
